purpose church

God has called us to the Pacific Northwest to be involved in the spiritual awakening of people as they meet the risen Savior Jesus Christ. We have a love for the community of Everett which came from Jesus, and want everyone around us to know Him and be made new just like He did with the two of us. Ours is a vision of discipleship, of living life with others to walk with them, bringing them to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ so that they can in turn do the same for others in the community.

We currently are working with a small church plant in Everett and are Northwest Baptist Convention/Seattle Church Planting approved church planters. We are beginning the process of planting a church in Everett, a mid-sized city 24 miles north of Seattle. Our vision is to see God transform downtown Everett block by block and neighborhood by neighborhood as people come to meet the Savior. We invite you to join us in this process!

Our path to ministry is an unusual one. We got married in December of 1998 and finished our undergraduate degrees at Texas Tech University. We then moved to Houston where Paul began a career as a public school teacher and leader, eventually becoming associate principal of a very large high school in the fastest growing area of the entire United States. Amanda was a homemaker during much of this time as we were gifted with two boys by birth within 5 years of marriage. In 2009 God called us to adopt children and over a process of two years He led us to 3 wonderful boys who are siblings in foster care through Child Protective Services in Texas. Our call to the Northwest began in 2009 while visiting Portland on a business trip, and over the next 5 years the Savior gradually brought into focus that He wanted us to move to Seattle to plant churches.
