Haggai and Mary Habila

Lead Pastor

Haggai was called into ministry 26 years ago while teaching in a public high school in Nigeria. He and Mary began a prison ministry, which God blessed and grew as they trained and developed leaders. They started multiple Bible studies that grew into churches. In 1996 the Lord allowed Haggai to disciple the man who is now the immediate past president of Nigeria. In 2002 Haggai received the opportunity for attend Boyce College, which required leaving his family behind. Two years later his family joined him, leaving everything to follow God’s leading for their lives.

While attending school Haggai has served as assistant to international student’s supervisor at Southern Seminary and Boyce College. In this position he saw the needs of other international students and how to reach out to them during their challenging times. As a family the Habilas opened their home to other internationals in order to give encouragement, assistance, and sometimes a temporary housing in order to help them to adjust into living in a new culture. There is no doubt that it is easier for an international to reach another international because they have so much in common! The Habilas have also assisted in planting Bible Community Fellowship Baptist Church in Louisville, KY. They, along with their three lovely children moved to Des Moines, WA in Summer 2011 to plant Living Spring Fellowship.
