The population of Chinese in Bellevue, WA grew 74% from 2000 - 2010, and by 2010 Chinese people comprised 11% of the total population (11,703 people). The number has continued to grow since then. There are also many Chinese students who are currently studying in this area, most of whom have never heard of Jesus before. There is a great need for evangelism. Rock Chinese Church is being planted to meet this need.
Jacob & Joan Zhang
Both Jacob & Joan come from the underground house church in China. They came to US to study at seminary so that they could be equipped for God’s kingdom work. Before planting in Bellevue, the Zhang's spent seven years serving in the Chinese Students Fellowship at Dallas Baptist University. When they traveled to Seattle, they saw the great need for the Gospel among the Chinese students in the Bellevue area, and knew God was calling them to move here and start a Chinese church.
