Dwelling place

“You need to start something new.” Those were the words Wes from a pastor friend of his in August of 2012. His words stirred up both a sense of excitement and fear of the unknown. The first response to him was to say “No, that isn’t me.”

Not being able to let go of those words, Adrienne and Wes began to ask the question, “Well, why not?” They knew that the only real reason they wouldn’t was fear that their Father would not come through. Fear was not a good enough reason to not open themselves up to a new adventure of faith.

Together they began searching God’s word, searching their own hearts and asking for wise counsel in order to see what the Lord had for them. Based on texts like Acts 13:1-3, they were confident that they wanted the Spirit to send them out on mission as the church and with the church.

For their family, Living in Seattle is an expression of worship and of an ever deepening desire to learn to trust the Father. Their heart’s desire is simply to love Jesus and act on that love in faith. The practical expression of that longing is to “start something new” in urban Seattle.

Their mission is to express that Jesus is their treasure by:…making disciples who love Jesus through friendships, …being the Church by gathering disciples together, ...seeking the peace of the city (and the nations) through the Gospel.

Their vision is to see disciples of Jesus multiplied through the forming of deep, messy, biblical communities of the gospel, both in and around the Magnolia area of Seattle and, through them, among other people groups in the world.

Wes and Adrienne Walls

Lead Pastor

Adrienne and Wes met and married in the Houston, Texas area. Adrienne graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Church Music from Houston Baptist University (Magna Cum Laude). Wes graduated from Howard Payne University (Not as Magna or Laude). He also completed a Master of Divinity Degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Wes doesn't want Adrienne to know that he married up, but he sure wants to treat her as if he did.

They have two amazing daughters: Evie (born 2011) and Sophia (born 2020). Though Wes is outnumbered (and outmatched), they still somehow keep it together - and laugh through the process.
